Caffè e Cinema Directed by: Federico Fellini
Written by: Federico Fellini
Genre: Dramatic - Biographical (colour)
Duration: 128 minutes
Nationality: ITA-FRA
Cast: Peter Gonzales (Fellini at the age of 18), Fiona Florence (young prostitute),Britta Barnes, Pia De Doses (Princess Domitilla), Marne Maitland (guide), Renato Giovannoli (Cardinal Ottaviani), Elisa Mainardi (chemist’s wife), Raout Paule, Galliano Sbarra, Stefano Mayore (Fellini as a child).

Rome seen from the eyes of a small-towner, whose memories go back to 1939, when he first got to the Termini railway station.

Maybe it is Fellini’s most summarizing movie, which puts together all his themes, his places and his characters: Rome, like Rimini, as a place where to set an ultimate biography (there is a man with a white big scarf) and like a big circus where ghosts of the past and of the present, and maybe even of the future, parade as if they were on a catwalk (an ecclesiastic one here).

The ending is very famous, with the motorcyclists on parade and the traffic jam on the ringroad. Costumes by Danilo Donati.
