Faema Espresso
1945-2010

“Espresso Made in Italy” is now back to the bookshops in a newly enriched edition. The book is the first and only publication – edited by Enrico Maltoni – describing the evolution of espresso coffee machines in Italy since the early Twentieth century, up to present days. Over 200 images, technical material and new pages, including the first advertisement from Gaggia trademark.

Espresso coffee, certainly the most popular example of the ”Italian way of life” in the world.

The very first book about the history of Faema - entitled "Faema Espresso 1945-2010".

Initially producing heaters, accessories for train carriages and permanent wave machines, Faema soon became the company which changed the history of the evolution of the coffee machine.

The book provides exhaustive information about technological innovations, the founder of Faema, Carlo Ernesto Valente, and the history of the social developments which changed Italian society and its habits in those years.
